ePUB Readers

I just finished creating a 2000+ page epub, which also had about 1100 linked footnotes. EPUB readers are going to have to get a whole lot better if this format is ever going to survive. In Adobe's Digital Editions it was horribly slow and the others I tried couldn't even open it except for Sony's reader, which is amazing since basically all an ePUB reader is is a web browser with a few insignificant abilities (ie: toc parser, zip decompression, etc.). One problem could be that the readers appear to be loading the whole book into memory, which is a mistake - readers should only load what's required (like a browser).
