First Car - 1982

My dad bought this car, a 1966 Ford Galaxie 500 four-door small-block 289, when I first started driving. He drove it a lot because it was fun to drive and it was used for all kinds of filthy errands like returning all of the returnables after party. This picture is from 1982 after a large gathering of the cousins. I put this car in a ditch only one time.

That's a cool car, Marc. Lots of memories that's for sure. Do you still have it? If so, you can just keep it running but it looks too rusted out to try and restore it. Probably too much salt in the winter where you live. I'm lucky. No salt here! My '64 beetle looks as beautiful as the one you drew in Ralph Snart!

Steel bars actually had to be welded into the frame because it had broken in half. I bought a '72 Beetle the next year, but my dad kept the car for a few more years until it finally rusted into dust.

Cool! I had a '72 Super Beetle back in high school but was totalled when a drunk driver rear-ended me. The transaxle was in the rear seat!

btw, I came across you inking a Ralph Snart page on Youtube. Wish you had more of 'em. I enjoyed watching it!

Also, where did you get the ink stand that goes on your drafting table? I need one of those! Did you make it?
